1. Enable Required Plugins

Enable:
  • Ultimate Multiplayer Inventory
  • Foliage System
Restart editor.

2. Create a Foliage Manager Data Asset

Create:
FoliageManagerDataAsset
Configure each foliage entry:
  • Foliage Type ID
  • Mesh or FoliageType association
  • Interaction Type (Simple or Complex)
  • Optional Complex Actor class
  • Optional loot setup
  • Respawn delay

3. Ensure Player Has UMI Interaction Component

If you use the UMI default character, this is automatic. Otherwise add:
UInteractionComponent
Make sure the player triggers interactions through input or continuous trace.

4. Assign Foliage Type IDs

In the Foliage Tool:
  • Select mesh
  • In “Instance Settings,” assign the Foliage Type ID that matches your data asset entry
This step wires the painted foliage to your plugin.
