Creating Simple Foliage

  1. Add an entry in the Foliage Manager
  2. Set Interaction Type = Simple
  3. Assign optional loot
  4. Paint foliage normally
Players can now harvest it immediately.

Creating Complex Foliage

  1. Create an Actor (e.g., BP_Tree, BP_OreNode)
  2. Add a Foliage Manager entry
  3. Set Interaction Type = Complex
  4. Assign your Actor class
  5. Paint foliage normally
Interacting with it spawns your Actor.

Extending Behavior in Blueprint

Actors can override:
  • OnInteracted
  • OnHarvested
  • OnDestroyed
  • OnRespawned
This gives full freedom for custom mechanics.
